Healing Spiritual Cancer: A Journey to Restoration and Grace

“Search me, O God, and know my heart… see if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” — Psalm 139:23–24

Hello everyone, and greetings to you in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus.

Welcome to  This Week’s Clinic for our Spiritual Body Clinic. We ended our last clinic covering the natural body. It is a joy and a privilege to gather with you today as we embark on a meaningful journey together, a path marked not by judgment or condemnation, but by hope, healing, and restoration. I want to invite you to open your heart and allow yourself to be present in this moment. Today, we acknowledge that, just as in our natural bodies, some challenges in our spiritual bodies can remain hidden beneath the surface, quietly developing in our hearts. These struggles, if they remain unrecognized or unspoken, might be wounds we have not yet healed, burdens we have not yet surrendered, or doubts we have not yet spoken about. But here, in this safe and sacred space, we can trust that God’s grace is always at work, bringing wholeness instead of shame, and restoration rather than reproach.

Let us begin our time together with a verse from the Psalms, a prayer that invites God to search our hearts and gently bring into the light whatever lies hidden within us:

“Search me, O God, and know my heart… see if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” — Psalm 139:23–24

During this clinic, we will use the term “spiritual cancer.” This is not a reference to any physical illness. Instead, it serves as a metaphor or as a vivid image of how sin which we classify as spiritual cancer, or unresolved hurt, can quietly take root in our souls when left unaddressed. Just as cancer in the natural body can begin with a small cell and grow unnoticed, so too can spiritual cancers or struggles start with a single unhealed wound, a thought we do not challenge, or a bitterness we refuse to confess. Over time, if left unchecked, these hidden issues which we call iniquities can influence our hearts, our attitudes, our relationships, and the decisions we make. But remember, God’s deepest desire is to bring healing, not condemnation; to mend what is broken rather than to punish.

The Bible reminds us: “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” — 1 John 1:8-9. Most people don’t like to talk about the sin they have hidden. But if we tell God about them he will help us rid them from our lives.

Paul writes, “Mark them which cause divisions and offences… avoid them. For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.” — Romans 16:17-18. These are spiritual cancer-causing agents that invade our minds with their cancer-causing words and teachings.

And we’re reminded, “When ye sin so against the brethren, and wound their weak conscience, ye sin against Christ.” — 1 Corinthians 8:12.

So, what is our purpose today? We want to expose these various cancers and catch them early on so that they can be removed and bring about healing.

You may not want to talk about your condition, but

This is a place for honesty, not fear. With your mind see yourself healed of whatever is plaguing you physically. Don’t hide your fear but confront it. Write it down on a piece of paper, or type it on your screen, but most of all speak it from your mouth with conviction. Just be sure that you can see the words and receive them into your heart so that you are healed. Proverbs 18:21  Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

You are in a  place for clarity, not condemnation. Whatever caused this problem is not stronger than the one that made you. 1 John 4:4  Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them (those sicknesses, those feelings, etc.): because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

You are in a place for healing, not hiding. Don’t hide from the situation, it exists. Let the situation know that you know where your help is.  John 10:10  The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. The word also states that nothing that your enemy can bring upon you will be successful in its attempt to destroy you. Isaiah 54:17  No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. (These words also include what science and what the doctors say.) This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.

God’s grace invites us out of darkness and into light. Hebrews 12:28  Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear. Just know that it is by the grace of God that we are not consumed. 3 John 1:2  Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.

At the end of the year of 2024, I was losing blood from my urine and my bowels. I went to the hospital, and many doctors examined me looking for where the blood was coming from. For days I went through test. Through the prayers of the members of the body of Christ, my healing came without any surgery. I was given four pints of blood, and lots of iron was pumped into me via an IV. I regained my strength and my ability to function.

Let me go over again with you the pathway to healing. First, confess the hidden thing. Healing begins within and with honesty before God. “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” — 1 John 1:9

Second, invite the Holy Spirit to cleanse. Ask God to uproot what has taken root and renew what has been weakened. “Wash thine heart from wickedness, that thou mayest be saved.” — Jeremiah 4:14

Then, meditate daily on scripture. Let God’s Word speak truth into the places where lies have multiplied. “But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.” — Psalm 1:2

Next step is to seek support. We at Spiritual Body Clinic are here for you. You are not alone. Healing grows stronger when shared with trusted believers who pray and encourage. “Comfort yourselves together, and edify one another.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:11

Finally, rest in grace. The cure is not your effort. The cure is God’s mercy, working from the inside out. “I will cleanse them from all their iniquity… I will pardon all their iniquities.” — Jeremiah 33:8. “Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean.” — Ezekiel 36:25

If you sense something growing in your soul that you’ve avoided, ignored, or minimized, you are not alone. God does not meet you with judgment—He meets you with healing.

This clinic is your invitation to begin that healing journey today.

Let’s pray together:

“Search me, O God, and know my heart. Heal what is hidden, restore what is broken, and lead me in the way everlasting.” Amen.
